December 6, 2003

So I have been a fan of the album "afraid to dance" for about 6 months now. It now has a place in my regular cd rotation. The other day I was listening to the radio and I heard John Mayer's new song. It's called "come back to bed". For those of who are familiar with eric's cd you may notice the similarity in song names. Track 4 on eric's cd is called "back to bed". Now,this alone did not seem significant. But then I realized that they had kinda the same feel. (same time signature too). They also both have horn sections. Eric's cd is copyright 2002 and mayer's is 2003. Now I'm not saying that JOhn Mayer ripped off Eric. But.....it does seem like a strange group of coincidences. ANyone else have an opinion? If you want to read the lyrics to mayers song go to www.johnmayer.com it's on heavier things. someone please tell me I'm not crazy.

Hey Folks -

Had a great show out in Keene. Met lots of nice people including Jillian (mandolin girl) Debbie and Bruce and Robyn (with a "Y") and Brett - it WAS a good idea. It was also a first having Christina sing with us on "Angelina" and "Josephine" (more to come). Everyone at the hotel (EF Lane) was great - Denise, Heidi & Scott, Michelle and the chef (sorry - missed your name) and thanks again to Amber for all the help with the CDs etc. We also debuted some new tunes - "X-Ray Glasses" and some other one I can't remember right now. Talk to everyone soon. Lorie and Roger - sorry I couldn't hang out longer but it was a trek back to Ipswich. Thanks for the lodging offer.
